[Drawkit] New Beta drop now available

DrawKit is an extremely impressive framework. We manufacture devices
that act like microscale pen plotters (for drawing out electronic
circuits or dispensing biomolecules for fabrication of diagnostic
tests) and these systems need good software for laying out the
patterns to be dispensed on a surface. Because their primary mode of
dispensing is vector-based, we need good vector illustration
software. We aren't happy with the program we've developed in-house
and DrawKit sounds like just what we need: a solid, feature-rich
vector drawing framework that we can extend with machine-specific items.

We need to do a little more evaluation, but I believe we'll probably
end up using DrawKit as the base for the next version of the drawing
program we ship with our equipment.

On a side note, we've moved all our customers to Leopard in order to
take advantage of Leopard-specific features in our core controller
software. It seems like there might be some advantages to be had in
using Leopard features within DrawKit. Core Animation layer-backing
of the vector elements alone might lead to some significant
performance improvements when dragging many elements around. As you
say in the release notes, the user base is currently small and any
large modifications are best made at this stage rather than later on.
I know you probably want to retain Tiger support in order to reach the
broadest audience, but I thought I'd at least throw this out there.
